Faux Butterfly Locs Aftercare Routine | Week 1 Update!

Hey everyone!

Welcome back to All Things With Tip! In this blog post, I'm sharing my experience with caring for my new faux butterfly locs! I wasn’t too sure about this style at first, but I'm one week in and loving this style. Check out my YouTube Shorts to see my full aftercare routine in action: https://youtube.com/shorts/V3CvE5wpkeY?feature=share

The Problem:

My scalp was itching like crazy! It could have possibly been the synthetic hair. I knew I needed to address it before it got worse.

The Solution:

A good scalp-soothing shampoo! I used the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Scalp Care Shampoo and Conditioner and let me tell you, it made a HUGE difference. My scalp felt instantly calmer and refreshed.

Post-Shampoo Pampering:

I towel dried the locs. To further nourish my scalp, I applied the Difeel Peppermint Premium Hair Oil. This oil is amazing! It's cooling, invigorating, good for growth and helps to keep my scalp healthy and happy.

Edge Care is Key:

To tame my edges and encourage growth, I'm using a combination of Biotin Jamaican Black Castor Oil and Sytonics Edge Control. This duo keeps my edges laid and moisturized.

Why I Love This Style:

  • Protective Styling: Faux butterfly locs are perfect for protecting my hair while it grows.

  • Low Maintenance: They require minimal styling and upkeep.

  • Versatile: You can dress them up or down for any occasion.

Overall:

I'm so happy with how my faux butterfly locs are turning out. This aftercare routine is definitely a keeper! I'm hoping to extend the life of this style a bit longer than usual.
